Japan's major banks collaborate to launch a unified stablecoin by March.
Japan's financial giants Mitsubishi UFJ, Sumitomo Mitsui, and Mizuho are advancing their plans to launch a yen-based stablecoin by March, a move underpinned by significant governmental support from the Financial Services Agency and the Liberal Democratic Party. This initiative not only challenges the dominance of U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoins but also marks a crucial step in integrating cryptocurrency solutions within traditional banking frameworks, potentially setting a global precedent for national stablecoins.
